Pulled it apart (it's a pullback type car):

Re: Speed Racer 1/32nd build
Chopped out some of the back for motor and gear placement, then added a strip of styrene for the motor to rest on, painted this black to match the rest of the undercarriage

Added some styrene tubes to keep it all in place

Re: Speed Racer 1/32nd build
Compared to a Scalectrix Mini for size comparison (Speed Racer has some left-over Mini wheels, painted silver)

Re: Speed Racer 1/32nd build
I've got some brass strips to add to give it a bit more weight, and still need to add the guide pin, but after that it should be done ...

The donor wheels came from an old chassis-only that was included in an eBay win; same as the (Tyco?) motor. The guide pin was donated by my brother, and tyre's came from this site http://home.alphalink.com.au/~gt/Assets/Html/MyWheelsl.htm - all up the project has been about $7 and a bit of time.

Dremelled out the front area to accept the guide pin, using the previous screw mount as a start point

Thats great work, Richard. You sure do put that extra bit of effort into what you do, and that I reckon should be praised.
