Re: Moulding
Looks good Rich. These posts are great! Will be interesting to see if you have either 1) Air bubbles in the mix which can be eliminated with a vacuuum and careful mixing (fairly common) 2) Inhibition of cure where the silicone has a reaction with the type of plastic or material it is comig into contact with causing it to not cure properly (not so common but ruins a project totally) \ Cheers Karl |

Re: Moulding
I found the RTV silicone to be fairly easy to work with.. but some of the resins I tried like to eat Lego blocks |

Re: Moulding
Actually, if you get a watermelon and a funnel, you can pour a bottle of Smirnoff inside to make an alcoholic treat .... _________________ |

Re: Moulding
Heh, gave a good layer of Vasoline to the first mould today and re-fitted the car; just did my pour and it looks good so far ... will let it dry overnight and hopefully this time tomorrow I'll have a finished mould _________________ |

Re: Moulding
De-moulded from the Lego ... the sprogs on it are from where the silicone got between the blocks; this also happened with the first half ... _________________ Speeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeed Racer |
