Well time for some upgrades... I bought some Porsche 959's as i figured they'd be good for it with their lumpy front lights... I've also added some goodies that let the lights run on while the car isnt on the track ! Now I just need to get some more pics of it coming off the track with the lights ablaze ! 
I dont know yet how much bulk its added to the body, but it could be a few grams !

Lower forward voltage... I got the stopwatch out, and the head lights run for about 1.5mins brightly and have no light output after about 8-9 mins. The rears run for about 30mins, and even after 1.5hours they can still be seen in a dark room ! I think this is a bit over kill

Sure ! But the question is $$$ ! Standard turbos is about $20. and then you need to add the time and parts on tob of that... that set up you see in the red porsche is about $10 worth of LED's and $5 worth of super cap. then it has to be done ! which is a good hours work ? so thats at least $25 worth.. then there needs to be the 7805, which is about $1.50... then another diode and cap is needed... so thats $60 worth of turbo ! I can sell you the parts if you want to have a crack at it your self tho ! The kit for the lights that dont work when the car is off the track would be a bit less, more like $15 or so ? |

LOL...I might try the local radio shack first...shipping alone would break me... The diagram helps alot though....and the pictures are very good as well... I've allwasy been jealous of the 1:32 guys and their fancy arse lights... I did see a set of Tomy cars with front and rear lights...but they are hard to find on the bay... But I'm sure if you did up a few cars...your mates would want one or two... |

BTW...you can blame Richard...I followed him over from hobby talk... *grin* But I would be interested in a few of the wired bodies lit for track power only...dropping the chassis should shave a few dollars.... I can solder them into a chassis here... |

Oh...and one more thing...I'm sure that wired bodies would be a hit on e-bay....no one is currently doing any... You could clean up very nicely.... |
